Welcome to the 2025 spring flag season!
Registration has officially closed so we will be spending the next 48 hours getting teams together and rosters out to coaches.
COACHES - If you have not already talked to her, please let Amanda know your preferred team name and practice day/times so that she can work on reserving field space. She will also be sending out jersey size and number requests out so you can verify with your team before we place the order. Look out for a GroupMe request this week as she will be starting a 2025 Spring Head Coach GroupMe to make communication easier throughout the season. We will also be having a coach’s meeting on Monday, April 7th at 7pm at the sheds. This will be a quick meeting to go over the season and to pick up equipment for those coaches that need flags, balls, and cones. The updated flag rules should be posted on the website by the end of day tomorrow - https://www.
PARENTS - If you have an outstanding balance for registration, your child will not be placed on a team until your registration has been paid. Also, some grade levels did not have enough registrations to make enough teams so we will be combining some of the grades in order to make sure we have enough teams. This change will affect coach and teammate requests. We will try to honor as many as we can on a “first come, first serve” basis but we will not be able to accommodate everyone. Please do not reach out and request to be moved unless it is a true emergency. We are lucky to have some really great coaches who have been with our league for years so if you did not get the coach you requested, we promise you that you are still in great hands. CYFL is a great opportunity to make some new friends and play some football!
Some other notes from the league…
1) Our next board meeting is tomorrow, April 1st at 6pm at the Fieldhouse. All our welcome to attend!
2) I will have registration for the fall season open later this week. Here are some important fall dates:
-Registration closes July 15th
-Practices start July 28th
-Equipment will be handed out the week of August 4th
*teams will be assigned a time slot for equipment hand-out and coaches MUST be in attendance to assist
-Tackle Jamboree August 16th-17th
-CYFL first game August 24th
-Labor Day is a Bye Week
-Playoffs October 19th
-Championship October 26th
3) If you are applying for DayDreams for the fall season, they will not start reviewing applications until May 15th. You are welcome (and encouraged) to get your application in as soon as possible, but they will not start review until then.
4) Don't forget that Academy is offering an exclusive shopping event for CYFL this weekend! They are giving us 20% of your entire purchase from April 4th to April 6th. I attached the coupon to this announcement, but it can also be found on the front page of our website as well as pinned at the top of our Facebook page.
